TOOL / WINE
Wine Vintage Calculator
A vintage is the fingerprint of a wine’s birth. This tool computes the current age of any vintage, and shows you at a glance whether your bottle has reached drinking maturity or is still waiting in the cellar.
ABOUT THIS TOOL
What it does & why it matters
A vintage is the year a wine’s grapes were harvested — the single most important clue to how that wine will taste today. Enter a year to see its current age and whether it has reached the drinking window you expect. For a collector, the vintage is also a weather report: each year wrote a different climate into the grapes, and knowing the age is the first step to understanding what the bottle will show when opened.

FAQ
Common questions
The answers collectors
most often ask.
Not necessarily. Many wines are made to be drunk young, and age only helps wines built to age. The calculator shows age and window status, but a wine’s peak depends on variety, region, and how it was stored.
It is the span of years during which a wine is expected to show its best balance. Before it opens, the wine is still closed and youthful; after it closes, the primary fruit fades and secondary notes dominate.
It is a general reference. For precise windows, consult the producer’s own recommendations and regional guides — they know the house style far better than any generic rule.
